The Government of Jamaica, with support from the private sector, the international community and donor agencies, has launched an extensive recovery and relief effort managed by the Hurricane Beryl Relief Coordination Committee to address the immediate needs and long-term rebuilding process caused by Hurricane Beryl.

The HBRCC is established to coordinate and manage Hurricane Beryl relief efforts within the Government of Jamaica and across various governmental and non-governmental agencies, both local and international ensuring timely, targeted, and efficient response to the impact of the extreme weather event on July 3, 2024.

The Office of Disaster Preparedness and Emergency Management (ODPEM) is the public agency responsible for disaster management and response. It was established to ensure the development of disaster management capabilities, facilitate emergency response, and coordinate disaster recovery efforts across the country. ODPEM collaborates with various Ministries, Departments and Agencies, non-governmental organizations, and international partners to manage disaster risks and ensure efficient emergency response.
The Office of Disaster Preparedness and Emergency Management (ODPEM) is the lead agency coordinating the nation’s operational response to Hurricane Beryl.

National Commercial Bank Jamaica Limited (NCBJ), through its philanthropic arm, N.C.B. Foundation, aims to raise $300M for a Disaster Relief Fund to support those affected by Hurricane Beryl, the category 4 system which ravaged several parts of the island on July 03, 2024. The Foundation, working with other approved charitable organisations, will provide support to individuals and communities impacted by the hurricane. This will primarily assist with the restoration of homes and farmers’ crops in more severely damaged parishes such as St Elizabeth, Hanover and Manchester.
